Colleen and Robert’s Wedding at Crystal Springs Resort

For most weddings, we usually shoot at one or two locations, depending on whether the ceremony takes place at the same venue as the reception. For Colleen and Robert’s wedding, we shot at three different locations–for getting ready, ceremony, and reception–and each location was uniquely beautiful on its own. It was quite a treat.

We started the day at Tamaracks Country Villas where Colleen and her bridesmaids got ready for the big day. This unique bed-and-breakfast was originally a stone farmhouse that was built in the 1800’s (you can still see some of the original stones exposed on the walls around the inn). It was later home to internationally known artist Josephine Wood Colby. In fact, the largest suite–the one in which the bride stayed–served as the painting studio to Colby and other visiting artists.

Next, we moved to St. Joseph’s Church in Newton, NJ for the ceremony. This beautiful church was also built in the 1800’s and features vaulted ceilings, stained-glass windows, and wooden details. Adding history and meaning to an already historic site, this church was also the same church in which Colleen’s parents and grandparents got married. How’s that for tradition!

We celebrated the rest of the evening at the reception held at the Grand Cascades Lodge at Crystal Springs Resort in Hamburg, NJ. The stately ballroom was beautifully decorated with candles and elevated centerpieces by Floral Gallery. Amber uplighting provided by Global Productions added to the warm ambience and highlighted the elegance of the room.

Colleen and Robert’s wedding was marked by love, family, and laughter. All the more special that the venues that were the backdrops to their big day were abound in history and beauty. Congratulations again to the happy couple!
