Rainy wedding days can be just as lovely, as was the case with Kelly and John’s wedding in late September. They were married at the Park Savoy Estate in Florham Park, NJ. The classic architecture and decor along with manicured gardens made for an elegant mansion wedding. It also provided us with a lot of great backdrops for photos.
It’s always fun and a joy to get to know the bride and groom and their story. Kelly and John met while she was working in a physical therapist’s office where John was a patient. On their big day, they included a lot of personal touches in the wedding: the venue was decorated with photographs of the families, guests were given bells to ring for the moment when the couple shared their first kiss as husband and wife, and custom-created candles with the couple’s engagement photo were given as favors at the end of the night. All these details made the wedding extra personal and special.
The bridal party got ready in the beautiful Park Savoy bridal suite. Kelly’s dress was very elegant, with stunning and unique lace details. Her father got very emotional when he saw her for the first time, that was a wonderful moment to capture. It’s these authentic and meaningful moments that make each wedding unique
Despite the rainy day, we were able to get some great photos. We did the family portraits in front of the large windows in the ballroom, we also took full advantage of the outdoor overhangs and did some outdoor photos. I was even able to convince Kelly and John to grab an umbrella to do some photos outside overlooking the gardens.
All the guests enjoyed the Time Machine band and danced all night. The father of the bride even got up and sang a tune with the band! It was a fun and wonderful night celebrating the newlyweds. Congratulations, Kelly and John!
