Kim and Chris were married on May 22nd, with a ceremony and reception at the Rock Island Lake Club in Sparta, NJ.

Before the ceremony, we did a first look on the old railroad trail in the woods, and we took pictures with Kim and Chris out on the island together. Later on, we were also able to get some nice aerial photos of all the guests, and I loved seeing that sense of family and togetherness in one shot.

Chris is a captain for the Somerset Fire Department, and it was amazing to see so many people from the fire department and police department at the wedding. During the ceremony, Lou—one of the groomsmen—said a prayer for those officers, and it was clear that these servicemen and women truly were family to each other.

There were so many little details and personal touches at this wedding, and I’m grateful to my second shooter, David, for capturing a lot of them. I thought Cindy from Floral Gallery knocked the florals out of the park. I especially loved that they provided crayons and drawing materials for the guests so that all of the young nieces and nephews could color!

I also wanted to highlight a truly touching moment during the reception between Chris and his sister-in-law. Chris was in need of a kidney transplant and had received the kidney from her, and so they had a special dance with just the two of them. I thought it was really touching to highlight that connection and that love.

Chris & Kim, thank you so much for allowing me to be part of this amazing day. I wish you both the best of luck together!
