Kate and Paul found two things when they came looking for a wedding venue – they found a very, very rare available date at the Rock Island Lake Club only a couple months out from their visit and they found us, Craig Collins Photography as we were there shooting another wedding! (The Rock Island Lake Club normally books at least a year out so this was a very rare occurrence.) Kate and Paul booked both the venue and us as their wedding photographers and were married there on July 30, 2017.
The wedding had about 100 guests and was a very intimate affair. Kate’s bouquet, as well as all her flowers, was done by Flowers by Candle-Lite of Denville. Flowers by Candle-Lite also decorated the birch archway alongside the lake.
Kate’s brother was her hairstylist as well as the “man of honor”. In another nice touch they were married by a mutual friend.
The Rock Island Lake Club is a ceremony and reception venue located in Sparta, New Jersey. It’s nestled in the beautiful Sparta Mountains and features include private lakefront property on an eleven acre lake, two islands, natural birch tree archway, and a stone fire pit. The venue is nestled in a natural wooded wildlife reserve area. In 2016 Rock Island was awarded Sussex County Chamber of Commerce’s “Customer Service Award.”
From a wedding photographers perspective the Rock Island Lake Club provides a wonderful mixture of both indoor elegance and rustic outdoor settings. The venue has both lakefront and wooded areas for picture-perfect photo backdrops.
From all of us at Craig Collins Photography we wish Kate and Paul Porfido all of our best wishes.
